What the role is
What you will be working on
The principal responsibilities for a Collection Management (CM) officer include record-keeping, collections care, and management of heritage collaterals, assets, and resources.
The successful candidate will:
• Develop and enforce CM policies and procedures
• Implement and manage CM processes, including cataloguing and accessioning, condition checking of artefacts, digitisation, loan requests, donations, and deaccessioning etc
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of artefacts and database
• Facilitate content research of artefacts and preparation of artefacts for display and/or internal use
• Implement and manage collections care measures aimed at preventing or delaying deterioration of artefacts
• Manage procurement needs for the unit
• Provide administrative support for various projects, including artefact store improvement and conservation initiatives
• Provide ad-hoc administrative or logistical support
What we are looking for
• Degree in any discipline or equivalent competencies
• At least 3 years of working experience in a related field
• Knowledge of conservation/preservation techniques
• Meticulous and detail-oriented, with strong computing skills and database management skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
