What the role is
As an integral member of our Finance team, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for centrally driving finance policy reviews, analytics initiatives and transformation efforts. You will also oversee and manage MND’s budget and resourcing strategies, and coordinate MND Family level financial returns.
What you will be working on
Your scope of work will include (but not limited to) the following:
• Lead finance policy reviews to improve governance while balancing risk and gain efficiencies (e.g. formulate policies, SOPs, best practices and guidelines/templates)
• Provide timely advice and support on finance policies and procedures
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop innovative and strategic initiatives to drive higher finance service standards (e.g. data analytics, digitalise workflow, support system enhancements, adopt automation and machine learning)
• Oversee and manage MND Family’s budget and resourcing strategies (e.g. plan and coordinate budget and resourcing exercises, perform budget utilisation analytics for management reporting, be programme evaluation liaison for Finance)
• Coordinate, review and seek approval for Ministry Family level financial returns (e.g. year-end statements/reports for AGD, fees and charges returns to MOF)
• Perform post-transaction analytics checks
• Review systems access rights
• Undertake ad hoc projects assigned as part of staff development
What we are looking for
• Relevant qualifications in Accountancy, Business, Finance or related discipline.
• Preferably 3-5 years of relevant working experience. Related experience in the public sector is preferred. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Strong analytical and writing skills.
• Positive working attitude, meticulous and organised.
• Good interpersonal skills and able to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Experience in data analytics and RPA software will be an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and as a team in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
