What the role is
What you will be working on
In this role, you will be reporting to the Team lead, Sport Nutrition and be part of the team responsible on the following areas:
Support Delivery
• Assist the nutrition team to provide high-quality, sport-specific, evidence-based and performance-focused services, to support our elite athletes
• Assist the nutrition team to conduct Individualised laboratory- and field-based testing
• Develop resource materials on Sports Nutrition and online access to nutrition information (e.g., handouts, videos)
• Manage inventory of the nutrition team including (but not limited to) nutrition supplements, recovery bar food products and nutrition laboratory consumables.
Research & Development (R&D)
• Assist the team in ongoing support and service delivery to sport programs
• Conduct exercise- and health-related R&D work that will impact the larger Singapore community (i.e., general public), as well as applied research to answer targeted questions by sport programs
Education
• Develop and deliver educational materials, as well as to educate coaches, athletes and students through the means of workshops and courses.
Capability Development
• Identify knowledge gaps and resources to bridge these gaps
• Contribute towards technological and innovative projects which enhance the local sport science ecosystem
What we are looking for
We are looking for self-motivated individuals who value integrity, teamwork and take pride in going the extra mile to provide excellent service to stakeholders and the community. This individual should be a sport advocate through living an active lifestyle and staying active.
In addition, an ideal candidate should possess the following;
• Background in Human Nutrition, certification and/or experience in Sport Nutrition preferred.
• Possess background knowledge and understanding of other sport science disciplines such as physiology, psychology, strength & conditioning, and biomechanics.
• Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills, open and dedicated to engaging in respectful and effective relationship building with stakeholders from diverse sports and backgrounds.
• Demonstrate the ability to educate and motivate athletes and coaches to embrace scientific support
• Ability to juggle time constraints supporting multiple athlete groups whilst managing expected team, division and organisational commitments and requirements.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team
