We are seeking an experienced Engineer / Lead Engineer to join us in driving our AI strategy forward. As a key member of the AI Masterplanning & Programme Management, you will be part of a dynamic team that oversees the development and implementation of our AI masterplan, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. You will also lead programme-level AI initiatives, providing technical expertise and guidance to cross-functional teams.

What the role is
What you will be working on

• Create reports and dashboards to track AI adoption and performance and overall organisational AI maturity
• Provide regular update to the management on progress, highlighting project/product development milestones, issues and expenditure.
• Carry out strategic foresighting and research to help in the formulation of future scenarios and to identify opportunities for technology experimentation and development in the area of across AI domains such as Adversarial AI, Vision AI, Embodied AI, Language AI, Multi-modal AI, and Emerging AI, to enhance the operational effectiveness of the Home Team.
• Provide technical expertise for procurement related to AI solutions, including eviewing technical requirements for AI solutions and evaluating vendor proposals and solutions
• Assist in annual workplanning and budgeting for the department
• Plan and develop new programmes of strategic interest to AI and to secure buy-ins and resources from stakeholders
• Oversee and execute the AI programme development, manage budgets for the AI programme initiatives, ensuring effective resource allocation and ensuring timely delivery
• Collaborate with stakeholders, assist in coordinating work and resources between cross-functional teams such as Solutioning, Certifications, R&D, Product development, Platforms, Data Engineering, and Infrastructure
• Develop and maintain documentation and knowledge base for AI initiatives
What we are looking for
• Postgraduate / Tertiary qualification in computer science, engineering, information systems or other quantitative/ analytical fields.
• Min 5 years’ experience in technology development of which min 3 years’ experience in delivering large scale projects with multi-sites deployment and proven track records
• Strong interest in technologies and innovation with experience or knowledge of AI/ML, Data Science and Data Analytics.
• Experience with financial management and budgeting
• Knowledge of emerging AI technologies and trends
• Experience in leading and collaborating with multi-agencies teams
• Good facilitation skills, extensive organising capabilities and strategic foresight
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in MS Powerpoint and Excel.
• Self-motivated, team player, creative with excellent communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.
• Having domain knowledge in Homeland Security sector will be an added bonus
• Applicants with more than 5 years’ relevant experience will be considered for more senior positions
All new hires are appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance and will be assessed and considered for permanent tenure over time, based on performance.
