What the role is

The Judiciary - comprising the Supreme Court, State Courts and Family Justice Courts - is one of the three constitutional pillars of government in Singapore. We welcome you to join our team as: MANAGER / ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, LEGAL POLICY STRATEGIC PLANNING AND RESEARCH DIVISION FAMILY JUSTICE COURTS We are looking for a dynamic individual to be part of the Strategic Planning and Research Division of the Family Justice Courts.

What you will be working on

• Collating, analysing, and reviewing legislative amendments which will have impact on family justice and the Family Justice Courts; • Researching and identifying appropriate legislations and case laws for legislative amendments, if required; • Researching into family laws and practices of other countries; • Environmental scanning to keep abreast of changes in the arena of family law and practices; • Performing secretariat duties for working-level meetings with external agencies and ministries; and • Enhancing the database of legislative amendments.

What we are looking for

• A legally qualified law degree holder; • 1 to 3 years of working experience in a law firm or in a legal-related role; • Prior experience in family law is preferred; • Strong analytical skills, critical and systems thinking, and problem-solving skills; • Good appreciation of legal-tech platforms and applications; • Excellent oral, writing, and presentation skills; • Excellent interpersonal skills; • Ability to work under pressure; and • Ability to work independently without close supervision and yet be a team-player Note: Applicants are required to submit relevant document(s) that indicate their eligibility as Qualified Persons. The successful candidate will be appointed on a one-year probationary contract in the first instance. Only short-listed candidates will be notified.
