The Transformation Office aims to build an agile, capable, data-driven and youth-centric NYC, powered by passionate and purposeful people. We work across teams, functions and disciplines to strategise, design, testbed, drive and support public sector transformation in NYC. We are seeking a self-motivated Product Designer with prior experience in UI/UX to join our product team. This is a one-year contract position with the Transformation Office. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in identifying and designing interventions to support the evolving needs of youth and contribute to the growth of the Discover Portal. The portal currently consists of Discover On My Way (https://discover.nyc.gov.sg/omw), which focuses on helping youths discover their education and career interests, and Discover Civic Action (https://discover.nyc.gov.sg/civicaction), which empowers and inspires Singaporean youth to actively engage in civic participation. Our next focus is on Discover Adulting, which focuses on youth needs as they transition across life stages.

• Collaborating with team members to plan and facilitate engagement sessions aimed at engaging youths and stakeholders to uncover youth needs that should be addressed on the portal. • Partnering with youths and stakeholders to co-create and test interventions as part of the iterative design process, and translating the insights into high-fidelity prototypes on Figma, ensuring seamless handover to developers for implementation. This is a good opportunity to enhance your skills and portfolio in product design, and to deepen your expertise in Design Thinking and user research.

• Strong written and verbal communication • Team player with strong interpersonal skills • Self-motivated individual who can adapt and thrive in a dynamic environment • Proficient in leveraging Figma to create interactive interface for desktop and mobile • Some experience with design thinking and/or designing stakeholder engagements such as interviews and focus group discussions will be advantageous
