What the role is

You will be part of a dynamic team to strengthen the governance of government grants through robust grant management processes and systems, stronger capabilities, and technology enablers. You will staff the inter-agency Grants Governance Committee that coordinates efforts across the public sector and monitors the overall progress of initiatives to improve grants governance.

What you will be working on

The broad areas of responsibilities for the portfolio include the following: • Engage and collaborate with the identified Sectoral Leads (MCCY, MSF, MOH, MOE, MTI, NRF and A*STAR) and Domain Leads (IRAS, CAD, GovTech) to develop/review and implement plans to improve grants managements within each sector, as well as to build up capabilities; • Staff the Grants Governance Committee and coordinate efforts across domains, as well as monitor the overall implementation progress of initiatives to improve grants governance by the Sectoral and Domain Leads; and • Support the implementation of the new Grants Governance Instruction Manual and Good Practice Guide to provide central guidance on grants management; • Undertake any other projects as assigned.

What we are looking for

• A background in finance, accounting and/or economics is preferred • 2 to 3 years of working experience in areas of grant making, governance and controls would be advantageous • Keen interest in reviewing policies, processes and practices • Good facilitation, negotiation and persuasion skills • Possess strategic thinking, conceptual, analytical and planning skills • Strong interpersonal and writing skills • Ability to work both independently and as a good team player
