What the role is

The Community Relations and Engagement Division (CRED) develops, coordinates and evaluate policies and efforts to strengthen social cohesion in our multi-racial and multi-religious society, taking into consideration current and emergent socio-religious challenges work that you do will help to strengthen community bonds to build a caring, cohesive and confident society in Singapore. The team is working with M3 agencies (MUIS, MENDAKI and PA MESRA) in building a Malay/Muslim Community of Success in Singapore, underpinned by 3Cs of Character, Competence and Citizenry. The project aims to examine key community trends or issues, and explore approaches in nurturing the 3Cs within the local Malay/Muslim community, through programmes, such as M3, the Singapore College of Islamic Studies, and the Communities of Success Programme. Through the project, the intern will gain valuable exposure to Government-community partnerships, develop practical skills in project management and offer recommendations in key areas to inform policy implementation.

What you will be working on

• The intern will be involved in the project to develop the Singapore Malay/Muslim Community of Success under the mentorship of a CRED officer. • The intern will additionally assist in the day-to-day operations of the division, including: o Assisting in the planning and execution of events o Assisting in general policy operations such as the consolidation of information and data, provide logistical and administrative support, etc o Providing secretariat support for key meetings and workgroups

What we are looking for

• Keen interest in Malay/Muslim community affairs and public policy work • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, including good written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Preferably have experience in research, basic project management, proficiency in basic data analysis, and digitally savvy • Good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills Application Details: We are seeking interns who can commit on a full-time basis.
