What the role is
What you will be working on
This role sits in the Innovation & Partnership (I&P) division, under the Technology & Industry Development Group in LTA. I&P division takes on an innovation broker role as the centralised InnoHub of LTA to promote open innovation.
As a member in I&P division, you will work closely with internal stakeholders such as the Rail, Public Transport, Active Mobility, and Traffic and Road Operations groups in LTA to identify their needs, sharpen their problem statements, and pose challenge statements to help push frontiers. You will also meet external stakeholders from Institutes of Higher Learning, Research Institutes, and companies to understand their offerings and capabilities.
With these understandings, you will help secure partnerships, collaborations and drive innovative solutioning using enablers such as the Land Transport Innovation funds and Urban Mobility Innovation grants and using agreement instruments. I&P division also manages the Land Transport Innovation Portal to engage the innovation communities, in addition to driving other communication strategies, which you will help shape.

You will be working on
- Engagement and facilitation work with internal LTA groups to identify and develop problem and challenge statements.
- Partnership development work such as scouting, evaluating and engaging potential external partners for collaborations, including preparation of the partnership instruments.
- Stakeholder engagement work to build and sustain strong relationships to foster a continued culture of collaboration, and representing LTA at industry events, conferences, and networking sessions.
- Administration of innovation grants and funding schemes, ensuring proper grant governance.
- Facilitation and oversight of innovation projects from concept to delivery, including monitoring of KPI/ impact metrics, and reporting and presentations to senior management and stakeholders.
- Crafting high-impact written narratives and marketing materials to package technical projects in a clear, concise, and inspiring way – designed to captivate stakeholders and reflect the project’s strategic outcomes and achievement.
What we are looking for
Knowledge in Engineering, Technology, Science, Innovation or Business Management preferable
At least 3 years of working experience preferably in the Public Service
Passionate in urban land transport research and technology
Excellent written and communication skills
Meticulous, with attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal abilities, with an outgoing personality
Experience in partnerships development and stakeholder engagement works with IHLs, RIs, and the private sector
Able to thrive and multi-task in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and be able to learn on the fly
A curious and inquisitive mindset with a passion for uncovering and deep diving into engineering/technological domains to uncover root causes of problems and eager to identify hidden needs and spark innovative solutions.
