What the role is

Based in the Department of Student Services, the Employment Support Adviser is responsible for developing and implementing initiatives to help SP graduates secure full-time employment aligned with their skills and aspirations. Serving as an intermediary between graduates, employers, academic schools, and internal departments, the Adviser will proactively engage stakeholders, build strong industry partnerships, and stay responsive to evolving hiring needs. Through targeted outreach and coordination of placement efforts, the Adviser supports SP’s mission of nurturing work-ready graduates.

What you will be working on

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively build and deepen relationships with employers to identify job opportunities and regularly drive hiring initiatives that support graduate employment.
  • Facilitate job placements by matching graduates to suitable roles and actively advocating for their employment with hiring partners.
  • Support graduates through personalised job search coaching and by connecting them to relevant networking and career development resources.
  • Collaborate internally with academic schools and relevant departments to identify graduates who may need employment support.
  • Recommend improvements to job placement strategies by tracking data and monitoring employment trends and outcomes.

What we are looking for

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in business development, relationship management, or job placement.
  • Strong industry knowledge and familiarity with workforce trends.
  • Good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, and confidence in initiating cold outreach and engaging with employers effectively.
  • Skilled in coaching graduates and facilitating engaging career/job search workshops.
  • Dynamic and self-motivated, with a proactive and adaptable approach to managing both projects and stakeholder relationships.
  • Prior experience as a recruiter, and/or credentialed career adviser/practitioner will be an advantage.

Successful candidate will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
