Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) is a key decarbonisation pathway for Singapore to achieve our international climate targets, particularly for hard-to-abate, emissions-intensive sectors such as energy & chemicals, power, and waste. The CCS Programme Office (CCSPO) is responsible for developing and implementing the first cross-border CCS project in Singapore, and planning for future phases. Responsibilities:
As a member of the CCS PO, you will be part of the dynamic and multi-disciplinary team tasked to plan and develop the cross-border CCS project, to support Singapore's overall decarbonization efforts in achieving our net-zero goals. Together with the team, you will:
- Evaluate and select the participants to be in the CCS project;
- Develop and implement policies to enable the commercial arrangements for stakeholders in the CCS value chain; and
- Negotiate and structure commercial agreements with stakeholders in the CCS value chain, including securing funding and other resources.
- Support MTI in developing plans to enable G2G agreements for cross-border CCS
Requirements
- Background in Economics, Finance, Business or equivalent.
- Relevant experience in commercial work, including understanding business situations and considerations, developing negotiation positions and co-creating and implementing solutions. Experience in the large scale infrastructure development, energy or CCS is an advantage.
- Quantitative skills in financial modelling will be an advantage.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, coordination, negotiation and communication (both written and verbal) skills are critical for this position.
- Be driven and resourceful, whether working independently or as part of a team.
- The ability to work under tight timelines and to effectively manage, engage and influence multiple stakeholders is essential for the position.
- Must be a positive team player, with strong inter-personal skills to engage and collaborate with stakeholders.
