What the role is

• You will be responsible for administering the Self-Employed Person Income Relief Scheme (SIRS). Applications for SIRS has closed, and the work primarily involves following up on recovery action for specific groups of individuals and assessing and responding to appeals to ensure the prudent stewardship of public funds. • You will also assist with the implementation and policy-ops for a complex suite of policies and schemes that aim to strengthen retirement adequacy for Singaporeans, such as the Workfare Income Supplement and Silver Support Scheme. This will include public communications and responding to public feedback on support schemes. • Through this position, you will pick up the knowledge and skills to become an effective policy-ops officer in the social policy domain, and gain experience in implementing policies, public communications and service delivery.

What you will be working on

• Contact appellants and respond to appeals on the Self-Employed Person Income Relief Scheme (SIRS) • Analyse data and information to verify eligibility for SIRS and other retirement support policies • Draft submissions and letters to appellants • Perform other administrative duties, including reconciling accounts and financial transactions, tracking and managing cases across the team, and updating the appeal guidelines where needed.

What we are looking for

• Experience in customer service roles, policy ops or grant administration preferred. • Good writing and communication skills, with strong inter-personal skills. • Ability to exercise both empathy and firmness when managing complex appeal cases. • Meticulous in work, especially when analysing information and checking against guidelines and criteria. • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in teams. • Familiar with Microsoft Excel
