What the role is

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager, Internal Audit to lead and execute risk-based internal audits related to construction projects, IT systems, investigation and business advisory services. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in internal controls, risk assessments, investigations, and IT governance to ensure compliance, operational efficiency, and strategic improvement across the organisation.

What you will be working on

  • Plan and conduct risk-based auditing across operational, financial, IT and compliance areas.

  • Develop detailed audit programs to appraise effectiveness of business/IT processes and assess compliance with applicable laws, regulations and procedures.

  • Develop audit reports for submission to Management and Audit Committee and monitor the implementation of audit recommendations.

  • Assist with administering the Whistleblowing program including any investigations as assigned by Director, Internal Audit.

  • Generate audit scope for outsourced internal audit/IT audit service providers, monitor and manage the outsourced providers’ progress.

  • Coordinate and liaise with external auditors and other control and monitoring functions.

  • Prepare Audit Committee meeting materials in consultation with Director, Internal Audit.

  • Provide independent advice on internal controls, process improvement, risk mitigation, and governance best practices.

  • Partner with business units during new system implementations or business transformation initiatives to embed risk-aware practices.

  • Support the division’s continuous improvement initiatives to enhance audit analytical capabilities and quality assurance program.

What we are looking for

  • Qualification in Accounting, Finance, IT or a related field, e.g. ACCA

  • Exposure to the construction industry, IT controls, and investigative/audit advisory services

  • Candidates with CIA, CA, CISA & Certification in Quantity Surveying (QS) will have added advantage.

  • Good working knowledge and understanding of internal control framework, internal auditing standards, risk management and government instruction manuals.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and reporting writing skills.

  • Strong analytical skills, resourceful, meticulous and a team player.

  • Independent, proactive and committed with a high level of initiative.

  • Strategic thinking with excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.

  • This is a contract position
