RPG undertakes the statutory functions in the rehabilitation of adult and youth offenders, and the protection of children and families. Our mission is to empower individuals and families to break cycles of abuse, neglect and offending. As a Rehabilitation and Protection Officer, you influence and shape lives, and in the process, the future of the rehabilitation and protection landscape in Singapore. To support your professional development, you will receive comprehensive training and develop foundational capabilities and knowledge on rehabilitation and protection work. You will also be given the opportunities to rotate to different exciting roles within RPG and broaden your perspectives, skills and experiences. Description of Division/Branch: Probation, Reintegration and Gambling Safeguards (PRGS) Division As part of the RPG family, the Probation, Reintegration and Gambling Safeguards (PRGS) Division is responsible for the effective rehabilitation of offenders on community-based orders with maximum participation of their families and the community. Through individual, family sessions and inter-agency collaborations, we deliver targeted interventions to steer probationers away from offending behaviours and lead socially responsible lives. What you will be working on

You will be part of the Community Partnerships team working in a fast-paced environment and would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders. Reporting to the Assistant Director, your main responsibilities include: • Undertaking social investigations of offenders referred by the Judiciary and assessing their suitability for community-based sentencing – community service order. • Supervising offenders on community service order to ensure completion of community service hours. • Exploring and engaging community partners actively for community service opportunities, preferably with nexus to the crimes. • Conceptualise and implement community service group projects with community partners. • Engaging volunteers to support probationers in their rehabilitation and successful completion of court orders. • Conceptualisation, planning and delivery of engagement/celebratory events with community service partners to understand their challenges and appreciate their partnership. • Reviewing and streamlining work processes and driving digitalisation efforts to improve efficiency.

What we are looking for

Competencies required: • Tertiary qualifications preferably in Social Science disciplines • Good command of spoken and written English • Good analytical and problem-solving skills and able to adapt quickly to evolving situations • Good interpersonal and communication skills • Able to work closely with partners/professionals to support rehabilitation goals holistically • Can multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines • Preferably with experience in working with volunteers or organising community service-related projects Functional Competencies • Case Management-Engagement, Assessment, and Planning • Professional Practice • Case Management- Intervention, Review and Documentation
