Description of Division/Branch: Probation, Reintegration and Gambling Safeguards (PRGS) Division
As part of the RPG family, the Probation, Reintegration and Gambling Safeguards (PGRS) is responsible for the effective rehabilitation of offenders on community-based orders with maximum participation of their families and the community. Through individual, family sessions and inter-agency collaborations, we deliver targeted interventions to steer probationers away from offending behaviours and lead socially responsible lives. We are passionate and committed to making a difference to the lives of these youths and their families and are looking for like-minded individuals to join our dynamic and life-changing team.

What the role is
What you will be working on
Reporting to the Chief Probation Officer, you will conduct social investigations and submit reports on offenders referred by the Courts. You will ensure that you maintain quality assessments, interventions and supervision of offenders placed on probation orders and in the management of stakeholders and volunteers.
Responsibilities:
Management of offenders placed on probation orders through:
• Undertaking social investigation of offenders referred by the Courts and making recommendations on their suitability for probation
• Delivering evidence-informed interventions and monitoring their progress, in close partnership with their families and the community
• Contributing to operational policy and planning in strengthening rehabilitative outcomes for probationers and their families
• Participating in initiatives as part of cross-disciplinary work in supporting the continuum of intervention for youths-at-risk and youth offenders

What we are looking for
Competencies required:
• Degree preferably in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, or Law
• Good command of spoken and written English as the position requires regular submission of reports to the Courts and key stakeholders
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills and able to adapt quickly to evolving situations
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Is able to work closely with different teams/professionals to support rehabilitation goals holistically
• Can multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
