What the role is
You will be part of the Modelling & Instrumentation Department (MID) in EMMD, and be responsible for carrying out air dispersion and water quality modelling studies to assess and quantify the impact of policies and developmental projects on air and water quality. The team also drives air and water quality research projects, data analysis and studies to better understand air and water quality issues in Singapore.
What you will be working on
As part of the Environmental Monitoring Instrumentation Branch, you will provide administrative and technical support to the Engineers and will be responsible for the following:
Support the engineer in managing the current water quality monitoring stations, including preparing and calling of quotations and/or tenders and managing the performance of contractors
Support the engineer in solving issues relating to the water quality monitoring stations
Work with the engineer to design and implement the next generation water quality monitoring stations
Provide technical support for the deployment of EMMD’s air and water quality system, or for air and water quality sampling
Assist in analyses of water or air quality data
Work with the air and water quality monitoring branches on projects related to air and water quality monitoring
What we are looking for
Diploma in Environmental/Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
Preferably 5 years of working experience in Environmental/Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical engineering fields.
Self-motivating and driven to learn, innovate and improve processes
Demonstrate ability to work both individually and as part of a team
Good analytical and thinking skills, and demonstrate ability to solve problems and think out of the box
Good command of spoken and written English
