What the role is
What you will be working on
Join a team of changemakers on a mission to redesign the motoring experience – creating a future where transactions happen effortlessly, touchpoints are thoughtfully designed, and where every interaction in a delight. You will be part of a team to reinvent the One Motoring platform, building new capabilities to enable real-time billing, personalised dashboards, and intuitive user flows.
You will coordinate and manage resources, lifecycles, and budgets while liaising between design, technical, product, and business teams to drive successful project execution that enables large-scale digital change.
What You’ll Do
- Project Leadership: Oversee the full project lifecycle, from initial conceptualisation and solution design through to implementation and ongoing system maintenance.
- Procurement & Vendor Management: Build strong partnerships by leading procurement processes, crafting robust tender specifications, and fostering vendor relationships that drive exceptional project outcomes.
- Stakeholder Management: Lead stakeholder engagement and manage relationships across internal and external partners to ensure sustained alignment and buy-in.
- Lead Technical Tests: Perform code and architecture reviews and lead software testing. You will approve test plans proposed by the vendors and supervise the testing process.
- Support Agile Software Development: Define and drive agile best practices with the vendor, bridging communication between designers, architects, and the vendors.
- Track Deliverables & Milestones: Maintain clear project timelines, monitor deliverables, ensure project documentation is maintained and proactively manage risks.
- Risk & Compliance Management: Identify and mitigate project risks while ensuring adherence to government IT governance, frameworks, and contractual obligations.
What we are looking for
- Knowledge in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical background.
- You have 7+ years of experience with at least 3 years in technical project management, senior or lead roles, preferably within government or regulated industries. You must have a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent technical background with demonstrated expertise in enterprise-scale systems.
- You have extensive experience managing complex procurement processes exceeding $1M in value, including multi-vendor contract management, change management. Knowledge of public sector regulations and compliance frameworks is preferred.
- You must have strong technical acumen and can conduct code reviews and architecture assessments. You have hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), microservices architecture, and modern DevSecOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and security scanning tools.
- You are certified in agile methodologies (Scrum Master, Product Owner, or equivalent) with proven experience scaling agile practices across large, distributed teams. You have deep expertise in software design principles, enterprise architecture patterns, API design and complex system integrations.
- You have excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with vendors, engineers, cross-functional teams, and the product leadership.
- You are highly organised and detail-oriented and can deftly manage multiple asks and workstreams while keeping projects on track.
- You are strategically minded with strong business acumen, capable of translating technical complexities into business value propositions. You have experience with budget management, resource planning, and can effectively manage multiple concurrent projects worth millions in combined value while maintaining rigorous quality standards.
