What the role is
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated candidate to join the operations Department as a Guest Experience & Retail Assistant. The Guest Experience & Retail Assistant serves as the ambassador for the Science Centre and its group of attractions, ensuring smooth and profitable frontline operations.
What you will be working on
As a Guest Experience & Retail Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional frontline service. You will be responsible for managing admissions, ticketing, guest assistance, and retail services using electronic ticketing and payment systems. You will guide guests by providing advice on products and services, and assist them in interacting with exhibits, ensuring their visit is both engaging and informative.
You will oversee stock control operations and manage merchandise displays in the retail shop to maintain a well-organized environment. Handling sales proceeds and conducting daily closing of shop accounts will be part of your duties, ensuring financial accuracy and transparency. You will deliver service in line with the Science Centre’s procedures, always maintaining high standards of guest interaction.
You are required to support safety protocols, manage emergency responses, and administer first-aid when necessary. You will also be responsible to guide temporary staff and interns, conducting performance evaluations, and managing procurement processes to ensure operational excellence.
What we are looking for
Candidate with a Diploma, GCE O / A / ITE or equivalent qualifications with good knowledge of Attractions, Retail Operations or Tourism Services are welcome to apply. Those with relevant working experience in related Attractions or Retail operations will have an added advantage.
You should have a strong service mindset and enjoy interacting with people. You must have a cheerful disposition, be organized and are meticulous with numbers. Due to the operational nature of the work, you must be able to maintain a flexible working schedule including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
