What the role is

You will play an integral role in driving the strategic planning efforts for the Polytechnic. You will lead a small team and work with senior leadership to develop and execute the Polytechnic’s strategic plan, collaborating with multiple stakeholders to ensure that the strategies are forward-looking, relevant and aligned with our mission and vision.

What you will be working on

Strategic Planning

  • Support the articulation, design, implementation and review of NYP’s strategic goals, taking into account macro trends and the external environment, as well as Whole-of-Government (WOG) policy priorities for Pre Employment Training (PET) and Continuing Education and Training (CET).

  • Conduct environmental scans, trend analyses and stakeholder consultations to identify emerging issues and opportunities for strategic intervention. 

  • Work with stakeholders to identify relevant indicators to measure the organisation’s performance and progress of its strategic goals.

Corporate Planning

  • Drive the planning of annual workplan activities at the institution-level, including senior management retreat and workplan seminar. 

  • Collaborate with Steering Committees, schools and departments to cascade strategic objectives into operational plans and initiatives

  • Monitor and evaluate implementation of corporate plans.

PIQAF 2026 (Polytechnic and ITE Quality Assurance Framework)

  • Lead one of the workgroups in the PIQAF planning committee.

  • The scope of work will include, but is not limited to, collaborating with stakeholders to develop the institution’s approach for the review, and translate this into the programme design.

Special projects

  • From time to time, to support key projects at the NYP-level or at the Polytechnics and ITE sector-level. This could include policy reviews or implementation of strategic initiatives, especially those that cut across schools and departments.

What we are looking for

  • Experience in strategic planning or related roles; some knowledge in risk management is preferred

  • Excellent writing and communication skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Able to engage stakeholders effectively

  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
