As a Data Product Manager, your key responsibilities include:
1. Strategic Planning and Execution:
-Develop and execute the mid-to-long term data product strategy, aligning it with STB's overall organizational goals.
-Build and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap, defining data products required by STB and industry stakeholders.
-Lead product launches and go-to-market plans for major releases of data platform features and products.
2. Requirements Gathering and Product Design:
-Conduct deep dives into business scenarios, use cases, and user journey mapping to inform product design solutions.
-Translate complex stakeholder needs into clear, actionable product requirements.
-Collaborate with data and product teams to ensure product feasibility and alignment with technical capabilities.
3. Data Governance and Quality Management for Industry-facing data domains:
-Establish and maintain data governance policies to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance.
-Oversee data quality management processes, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data products.
-Manage the full data lifecycle, from acquisition to archival or deletion.
4. Stakeholder Management and Communication:
-Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
-Translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders, facilitating understanding and buy-in.
-Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment between product development, business needs, and technical capabilities.
5. Analytics and Reporting:
-Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for data products.
-Leverage data visualisation tools to create insightful reports and dashboards.
-Analyze product usage and stakeholder feedback to inform continuous improvement.
6. Technical Competency:
-Maintain a deep understanding of data architecture, data modeling concepts, and big data technologies.
-Stay current with emerging trends and best practices in data management, analytics, and cloud platforms.
-Provide technical inputs to the product team and contribute to architectural decisions where necessary.
7. Problem-Solving and Innovation:
-Identify and solve complex data-related problems, applying critical thinking and analytical skills.
-Drive innovation in data products, constantly seeking ways to enhance value for stakeholders.
-Proactively identify opportunities for new data products or features based on industry trends and stakeholder needs.
