What the role is
What you will be working on
Key Responsibilities:
i. Collaborate with stakeholders and domain experts to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
ii. Design, develop and deploy machine learning models and AI solutions to address complex business processes
iii. Develop AI governance and best practice guides within MinLaw
iv. Ensure AI systems are developed in accordance with government AI governance guidelines and responsible AI principles
v. Conduct testing and validation of AI solutions
vi. Document technical specifications, methodologies and processes
What we are looking for
*Key Competencies*
• [Data Collection]: Collect, validate and integrate data from one or more sources of data to ensure maximum efficiency of the process and accuracy of the collected data.
• [Exploration Analysis]: Explore and analyse work on datasets using modern analysis tools and modern programming methodologies to discover insights.
*Work Experience / Personal Traits*
• Academic Training in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
• Preferably at least 2 years of experience developing production-grade AI/ML solutions
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with ML frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch
• Experience with natural language processing, computer vision, or other relevant AI domains
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerisation technologies
• Understanding of data privacy regulations and security requirements in the public sector
• Experience working with government or public sector organisations
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Experience with MLOps and AI deployment pipelines
While officers are hired for specific roles within the division at the start, officers have the opportunity to work in different or multiple sections within the division, taking into consideration the officers’ competencies and development needs, as well as the needs of the division.
Successful candidates will be appointed on a 1-year contract in the first instance, subject to renewal.
