What the role is

Building off extensive engagement with heritage businesses and ICH practitioners, NHB is in the midst of piloting targeted initiatives, aimed at addressing key gaps and opportunities pertaining to the sustainability and transmission of heritagetrades. You will support NHB’s continuing efforts to expand key schemes and initiatives that aim to safeguard our intangible cultural heritage.

What you will be working on

AM/ICH’s key duties and responsibilities will include:

1. Sector Development & Transmission

  • Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to safeguard ICH, including engaging sectoral partners like IHLs, CETs, and practitioners
  • Develop and implement plans for the continued iteration of NHB’s Heritage Apprenticeship Program, including all related administrative and programming deliverables

2. Promotion of ICH/Heritage Businesses

  • Assist in the team in the implementation and administration of the SG Heritage Business Scheme following the scheme’s inaugural designation of heritage businesses.
  • Overseeing the marketing & publicity plan to promote the SG Heritage Business Scheme and designated businesses, and working with vendors and partners to conceptualise strategies and content to do so

3. Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships

  • Assist the ICH team with engaging industry practitioners and stakeholders on issues related to ICH and heritage businesses, to better inform our strategies and initiatives, as well as to cultivate relationships with them.

What we are looking for

  • Background in any of the related fields: History, Social Sciences, Humanities, Arts Management, Business Administration, Cultural studies, with a strong interest in local history and culture

  • Preferably 1-2 years of working experience relevant to any aspects of the advertised position (e.g. programme implementation; marketing & publicity; stakeholder engagement)

  • Comfortable with engaging a range of stakeholders, including vendors and members of the public.

  • Excellent research and writing skills

  • Strong organisational, project management and inter-personal skills, able to work independently and in a team
