What the role is

We want to build a Do-Good district and help residents live a Better Life through one of the 5 key CS CDC focus areas – the ‘Physical Wellness & Sustainability’ pillar where we advocate eating well, living well, and thinking well among our residents in Central Singapore district.
The Manager will lead, manage, and curate programmes to:

1. Promote Zero Waste Lifestyle in Central Singapore District
a) Design, implement and lead zero-waste initiatives and programmes aligned with national priorities such the Singapore Green Plan 2030
b) Strong understanding of environmental issues and sustainability landscape in Singapore
c) Familiarity with national policies and initiatives such as the Singapore Green Plan 2030

2. Promote Better Environment in Central Singapore District
a) Working with partners and/or volunteers to curate and develop meaningful environmental and sustainability programmes that promote better and green living environment in Central Singapore District

3. Engage of Community Partners in Central Singapore District
a) Identify and build strong collaborations with community partners, grassroots organisations, NGOs, interest groups, schools, and corporates working on sustainability.
b) Facilitate ground-up initiatives and co-develop district-level projects that promote sustainability
c) Organise and facilitate programmes and events to engage partners on environmental topics

What you will be working on

1) Conceptualise, Strategise and Manage Community Programmes

  • Co-plan and review the concept, strategies, management and execution of community programmes to ‘Aggregate Needs & Resources, Build Capabilities and Connect Communities’

  • Effective engagement of stakeholders (e.g. Community Partners, Corporate organisations, Schools and IHLs, Grassroots Organisations, Social Service Agencies, etc), partners and residents to achieve team outcomes

  • Perform tracking and allocation of resources to realise optimal utilization of resources to achieve the programme outcomes and KPIs

  • Managing administrative matters for the programmes

  • To display resourcefulness in project execution and operation planning with the ability to assess and manage complex situations in real time

  • Project and programme management to implement large-scale signature programmes/events and national-level initiatives at the district level

  • To possess a genuine knowledge, passion and interest in developing and leading the design and implementation of environmental and sustainability programmes tailored to the needs of the Central Singapore residents

2) Develop networks of external stakeholders/partners

  • Work closely with Senior Manager and Assistant Director to build strong networks of external stakeholders/partners, especially with NGOs, grassroots organization, government agencies, educational institutions, and other stakeholders
  • Develop partnership proposals and collaboration models to support programme objectives
  • Manage partnership agreements, deliverables, and reporting requirements

3) Administrative and Reporting Duties

  • Prepare regular updates, reports, and presentations for management and stakeholders
  • Manage programme budgets and ensure compliance with funding and governance requirements
     

What we are looking for

  • To work with the Senior Manager and Assistant Director to achieve CSCDC wide initiatives and outcomes
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned by the General Manager/Deputy General Managers 
  • Other ad-hoc duties not covered under main responsibilities and duties
  • Participate in cross-team building initiatives and taskforces
