What the role is
What you will be working on
The job roles and proficiencies include, but are not limited to, the following:
Meteorological Observations
- Monitor continuously the weather situation
- Observe and record meteorological phenomena and parameters
- Ensure quality of the performance of systems and of meteorological information
- Communicate meteorological information to internal and external users
- Conduct upper-air sounding operations to collect atmospheric data
- Assist and support various aspects of work at a meteorological station (e.g., archiving data, QC of meteorological data, compiling meteorological statistics, collating/preparing operational and aviation meteorological information, facilitating/coordinating with external vendors/agencies, etc.)
General Meteorology, Systems, and Data
- Apply basic understanding of meteorology and key principles behind local weather, climate, and environmental hazards
- Employ basic understanding of weather parameters and associated measuring instruments and meteorological code formats
- Employ basic understanding and follows standard meteorological data collection and processing procedures
What we are looking for
The job might be for you if you possess the following:
- NITEC or GCE ‘O’ level with pass in English/Maths/Science
- 1-2 years of working experience in shift work
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Words, Powerpoint, Excel)
- Communicate clearly and in a friendly manner, and enjoy working with others
- Pay attention to the finer details
- Organised and able to multi-task
- Mature, independent, and resourceful
- Self-driven and always ready to strive for improvement
- Able to perform rotating shift work
- Able to work night shift and on weekends
