What the role is
What you will be working on
The Energy Connections Office is tasked to facilitate around 6GW of low-carbon electricity imports into Singapore by 2035, or about one-third of our energy demand then. We are looking for a dynamic and strategic Branch Head to lead the Re-Imagining Future Power (RFP)-A team. In this pivotal role, your key responsibilities will include:
- Nurturing and guiding the RFP-A team to deliver the strategic outcomes for Singapore and EMA.
- Leading negotiations with interested companies on their proposals, and evaluating such proposals to meet our requirements for energy security, competitiveness and sustainability.
- Engaging overseas government bodies to facilitate imports.
- Ensuring that electricity imports projects are implemented on time.
- Keen interest in energy transition issues and passion for the public service.
- 8 years of relevant experience in government relations, industry engagement and/or the energy sector, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Comfortable with navigating ambiguity, challenging the status quo, and willing to speak up and put forward new solutions.
- Excellent verbal communication, analytical and critical thinking skills, and prepared to deep-dive into relevant subject areas.
- Prepared to travel overseas for work frequently
