The jobholder supports the Deputy Director (Border Security), Immigration & Checkpoints, by serving as the point-of-contact to coordinate with other teams, people manager and lead on all operation, project management and governance matters related to all systems located within the various checkpoints in ICA. This improved span of control and oversight of the job holder facilitates seamless integrations of all ICT, non-ICT, B&I and Platform systems that are deployed at the land, sea and air checkpoints.

What the role is
What you will be working on
Coordination within the ISTU team and other teams of C2 systems, Border Security and Identification.
• Oversight of all systems in the ICA Checkpoints. Primary point-of-contact to ICA, for close coordination internally and externally with other teams to facilitate seamless integration of all ICT systems, non-ICT systems, B&I as well as platform systems that are deployed in the ICA Checkpoints.
Staff development and management
• Build team competency and deepen specialisation of ISTU staffs for all Systems deployed in ICA Checkpoints including ICT systems, non-ICT systems, B&I systems as well as Platform systems, through sharing best practices, knowledge sharing, relevant staff training/courses.
• Manage staff morale and team performance.
• Management and review of staff appraisals.
Monitoring and tracking
• Lead team to track asset management (right up to disposal after system decommissioning), timeline and budget of contract/license renewals, system upgrades and enhancements and system performance metrics such as system availability, response time and turnaround time that have major impact on ICA operations.
Governance
• Lead team to ensure systems are in line with prevailing policies and Instruction Manual standards and keep abreast of any changes.
• Guide team to staff papers for necessary management approvals.
• Work with auditors to provide necessary support work and investigate audit findings if any.
Risk management
• Lead team in incident reporting, identification of root causes and response planning for prompt resolutions.
What we are looking for
• Tertiary qualification in Computer Studies, Information Technology, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• At least 10 years of Project / System Management experience
• 5 years of staff management experience
• Positive and can-do attitude
• Ability to cope with heavy workload and demonstrates integrity
• Good interpersonal, verbal, presentation and written communication skills
• Excellent stakeholder management skills
