What the role is

The Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS), a cluster of NParks, safeguards the health and welfare of animals through comprehensive and integrated programmes and works closely with partners in the veterinary and animal-related industries to strengthen capacities and enhance competencies in animal health and welfare. It is the main touch-point on animal and veterinary matters in Singapore and the First Responder for all animal-related feedback. Through public education and outreach, AVS hopes to foster a humane and gracious society for all, where pet owners, communities, and animals co-exist in greater harmony within our biophilic City in Nature.

What you will be working on

[What the role is]

[What you will be working on]

•    Plan and execute engagement work and outreach programmes relevant to animal-related matters. This includes, but is not limited to: 
o    Drafting content for outreach materials and platforms
o    Managing logistics for events
o    Engaging and/or managing the community, stakeholders and volunteers 
o    Ensuring smooth execution of programmes
•    Provide secretariat and administrative support
•    Perform other assignments or projects as required

What we are looking for

•    Areas of studies in Life Science, Biology, Zoology or other related science disciplines
•    Good written and verbal communication skills
•    Experience in design capabilities, outreach and/or communications-related work are advantageous 
•    Must work on weekends, which is when most of our events are organised
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) 
•    Creative and resourceful individual who is able to work well with a diverse group of stakeholders
•    Good team player with strong interpersonal and project management skills 
•    Self-motivated and able to work independently
•    Must work on weekends, which is when most of the events are organised
•    Must be comfortable with pet animals 

Will be stationed at Singapore Botanic Gardens (1 Cluny Road) and occasionally at Animal Management Centre (57 Sungei Tengah Road)

Only shortlisted candidates will be notified. Successful candidates will be offered a 11-month employment contract
