Duties
Plan and implement agricultural research projects, including trial design, setup, and execution across areas such as crop improvement, cultivation practices, and environmental optimization under local conditions.
Coordinate with industry stakeholders such as commercial farms and technology providers to conduct on-site research trials, collect field data, and assess the practical applicability of research findings.
Conduct data collection, analysis, and interpretation using appropriate agronomic and statistical methods to support evidence-based decision-making and technology adoption in urban agriculture.
Assist in the delivery of outreach and training activities, including technical workshops, farm demonstrations, and stakeholder engagement sessions aimed at knowledge transfer and capability development.
Provide operational support for research execution, including procurement of materials, maintenance of trial infrastructure, documentation of procedures, and compliance with safety and regulatory protocols.
Requirements
A recognised Diploma in Horticulture, Agriculture, Plant Science, or a related discipline; relevant work experience in crop research or cultivation is an added advantage.
Demonstrated interest and passion for research in vegetable cultivation and sustainable agriculture.
Comfortable with outdoor fieldwork and engagement with vegetable farms and agri-industry stakeholders.
Willingness to work beyond regular hours, including evenings and weekends, to support field trials, training sessions, and outreach activities.
Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
Proficient in written and spoken English; proficiency in Mandarin and other languages or dialects is advantageous for effective industry engagement.
Competent in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
Possession of a valid Class 3 driving license is preferred.
