You will be attached to an Urban Design Studio in HDB's Urban Planning Group to assist in researching on the history of Bukit Panjang town and assist in working out the themes and sub-themes for Bukit Panjang as part of the formulation of the Bukit Panjang Town Design Guide (TDG).
HDB has been progressively launching the TDGs for the respective towns and has completed 13 TDGs out of the 24 HDB towns to-date. The TDG ensures distinctive and unique town identity, and it guides the design development of various projects. It is an Important document to provide references and guidelines for various stakeholders especially the Town Councils who are also engaged as part of the TDG working process.
During your internship, you can expect to be involved in the following:
• Conducting site visits with ground observations and photo documentation of HDB towns
• Formulating broad and sub-themes for the town based on site analysis, historical context and vision for the town
• Analysing areas within the town which has potential for improvement/upgrading and opportunities to synergise improvement works/upgrading programmes
• Referencing launched TDGs to holistically consider the proposed themes and narrative of the TDGs
• Assist in the production of plans and collaterals for the TDG
