What the role is

Rehabilitation & Social Mobility Policy (RSMP) Directorate develops policies and programmes which: a) Deliver stability, self-reliance and social mobility for lower income families b) Protect individuals and families from abuse and neglect or problem gambling c) Rehabilitate individuals from social dysfunction. You will be part of a close-knit team that reviews and formulates policies on gambling social safeguards to ensure that our social safeguards strategy and policies to prevent and address problem gambling, and minimise the adverse impact of gambling on families and society, remain relevant and robust amid a constantly evolving gambling landscape. You will coordinate with Government agencies, gambling operators and other external partners, as well as operational units within MSF to review and formulate policies and programmes, and ensure that they are well-implemented in accordance with policy intent. You will be involved in planning for research on gambling, which will inform policy and programme reviews. This includes managing qualitative research projects as well as performing basic quantitative data analysis.

What you will be working on

• Collaborate with external stakeholders and partners across Ministries and Divisions to formulate, implement and evaluate policies. • Conceptualise research studies, develop research proposals, plan and organise the collection of data. • Conduct data analysis using appropriate statistical methods/tools, interpret and present research findings. • Plan and carry out public engagement of stakeholders.

What we are looking for

• Academic background in a relevant field. • Possess written and communication skills. • Possess strong planning skills and analytical aptitude. • Possess strong team ethos and effective interpersonal skills. • Ability to communicate complex research findings to non-technical audiences. • Experience in policy or research (3-5 years of experience) would be advantageous. • Proficiency and experience in the use of statistical analysis and software (e.g. Python, R, SPSS) would be advantageous.
