What the role is

Overall Job Purpose Data Manager (GIS).

What you will be working on

Key Responsibilities To develop and manage a Geographic Information System (GIS) database for record keeping of coastal protection and drainage measures and others as assigned by the Supervisor. Set up and improve the processes for acquiring, cleaning, translating and loading spatial datasets; This includes working with the relevant stakeholders to set up the system to suit Sentosa needs. Handle and read (CAD/BIM/PDF) building plans, infrastructure projects and survey information, analyse and digitalise the information (including georeferencing) into GIS databases; To review, amend and incorporate existing GIS information into GIS database; Assess and give comments to new GIS information submitted by external consultants and contractors before incorporating the information into GIS database; Ensure GIS data quality and completeness; Evaluate new data sources for quality and attribution to support infrastructure work requirements; Perform geospatial engineering tasks such data extraction, cleaning, transforming and preprocessing the data for analysis; Prepare plans from GIS database to support planning decisions; Perform spatial queries and use geoprocessing tools; Regularly support the review of data and updating processes or changes, adjusting where necessary; Work closely with engineers, project managers, land planners, architects on coastal, land, and infrastructure related matters; and Conducting training sessions for in-house teams.

What we are looking for

Job Requirements Degree or diploma with background in Built Environment, Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines. Minimum 5 years experience with relevant skill sets in GIS concepts, ArcGIS desktop, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, ArcGIS server, ArcGIS Portal, Global Mapper, BIM and Autocad. Someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment to develop technical (Geospatial and GIS) details and working with multiple stakeholders. The officer should also be passionate about playing a part in building Sentosa’s long-term infrastructure to support Data management. Skilled in designing and building geodatabases. Proficient in using ESRI and Open GIS software products. Scripting in Python or equivalent languages would be an advantage. This is a 4-year contract with the possibility of renewal.
