About Outward Bound Singapore - a division of NYC Outward Bound Singapore (OBS) is a member of Outward Bound International - a global network of Outward Bound schools operating in 35 countries. Established in 1967, OBS is recognised for its leading experience in outdoor education with more than 500,000 people trained. Our staff are highly qualified professionals with an affinity for the outdoors and passion for developing people. As a national training institution, our mission is to develop mentally and physically rugged youths to be active citizens inspired to serve the community. You will be part of the Safety & Quality Audit (SQA) team at Outward Bound Singapore (OBS) which supports the organisation in keeping abreast of workplace safety and health (WSH) regulations and policies, and driving holistic transformation in organisational safety culture. The team also works with other Ministries and agencies to harmonise processes in Emergency Preparedness and Crisis Management. This role provides hands-on exposure to implementing safety systems and initiatives, and is ideal for those eager to build practical experience in this specialised safety field.

What you will be working on

As Manager / Assistant Manager (Safety & Quality Audit), you will be supporting the research, curation, and development of safety related content that are both engaging and appropriate for our OBS staff’s learning. You will also assist to gather relevant safety data to aid “Building Safety Culture” and other related activities to instill staff with the right safety attitudes, mindsets, and behaviors. Working alongside experienced safety professionals in the outdoor adventure education sector, you will develop specialised skills in outdoor safety protocols while contributing directly to the well-being of staff, third-party contractors and participants. Your key responsibilities include: • Support implementation and review of risk management processes, including assessing risk, maintaining risk registers, and monitoring control measures • Maintain and assist in monitoring timely updates of safety documentation, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with legal requirements and current standards • Assist to coordinate with stakeholders for regular safety protocol reviews • Support the development, maintenance and completion of safety training materials, including: o Assisting in identifying training needs o Creating and updating e-learning content o Supporting integration of new safety information into existing courses o Managing enrolment and tracking completion rates • Assist in safety inspections and follow-up on corrective actions • Support training administration and gather feedback for continuous improvement

What we are looking for

• 1-3 years’ relevant experience in risk management and auditing will be advantageous (Fresh graduates with relevant educational background may be considered) • Experience working in outdoor environment organisations or safety-critical industries will be advantageous • Demonstrated knowledge or familiarity in: - Conducting risk assessments and implementing control measures - Maintaining and updating safety documentation and compliance - Developing and reviewing safety protocols • Experience with data analytics tools (PowerBI, Tableau) is advantageous • Understanding of e-learning platforms and digital training tools • Strong communication, analytical and critical thinking skills • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage within tight timelines • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (esp. in Excel) • Able to be based at OBS Pulau Ubin campus. Willing to travel to any of OBS’ campuses / sites (e.g. Pulau Ubin, East Coast Campus, Punggol Reception, Changi, and OBS@Coney).
