What the role is

The incumbent is to develop, implement and evaluate the strategic plans for CNOO so as to support the building of a competent and resilient nursing profession that is sustainable and future ready to meet the health needs of the nation. You will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time.

What you will be working on

Development of policies related to nursing education and work related to National Nursing Academy, nursing competency frameworks development and their training roadmaps, Pre-Employment Training (PET), Continuing Education and Training (CET), and building quality workplace-based training, capability building of nursing faculty and Entrustable Professional Activity (EPA). You will be required to work collaboratively with internal colleagues within the Ministry and external colleagues/ stakeholders of Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), healthcare clusters and other Ministries (e.g. MOE) and agencies.

Key Competencies Required: • Thinking Clearly & Making Sound Judgements – Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to support the crafting of sound policy recommendations and guidelines; ability to grasp timelines, operating context and ground realities. • Learning & Putting Skills into Action - Possesses the drive and curiosity to learn and apply new skills, knowledge and new ways of working. • Improving & Innovating – Ability to seek continual improvements, and to innovate and experiment while managing the risks involved. • Working Effectively with Stakeholders – Ability to mobilise and rally partners and stakeholders towards a collective purpose. • Relevant qualifications in nursing, healthcare or related fields • Preferably with 3 years of working experience in nursing education or familiarity with the healthcare industry • Post-graduate qualification in education would be advantage • Able to work with wide spectrum of stakeholders including nurse leaders and educators in healthcare institutions and institutes of higher learning • People-centred • Good team player and networking skills • Strong writing and communication skills • Good project management skills • Preferably with prior experience with website development and recurrent maintenance • Preferably with experience in policy-making, secretariat support and handling administrative work As part of the shortlisting process for this role, candidates may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment.
