What the role is
What you will be working on
You will play a lead role in analysing land transport policies and initiatives, from an economic perspective in support of LTA’s mission. The scope includes:
Undertaking econometric and statistical analysis of individual travel behaviour
Conduct research into patterns of transport-related economic decisions Analyse the market structure, economic efficiency, and effectiveness of the regulation, competition and incentive frameworks in our land transport industry, using available data resources
Enhance the reputation of the Authority in economic analysis, by supporting efforts to promote LTA’s connections to the wider community of researchers and practitioners in economics
Mentor junior members of the team, guiding them on appropriate methodologies and supporting their professional development
As part of the shortlisting process for the role, you may be required to complete a medical declaration and / or undergo further assessment.
What we are looking for
Knowledge in Economics. Strong theoretical and practical knowledge in Economics would be advantageous
At least 6 years of relevant experience
Knowledge of micro-economics, especially with regard to transport issues
Strong knowledge of econometric analysis, especially with regard to survey designs, discrete choice and panel data modelling
Knowledge of econometric analysis tools such as R and Stata
Possess the drive and resourcefulness to produce innovative solutions
Excellent written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated competency to translate technical findings to policy implications
