What the role is

To develop policy recommendations and uphold CSA’s regulatory mandate through the administration of the Cybersecurity legislation and regulations relating to critical information infrastructure, regulated digital infrastructure and other regulated entities. Ensure that the cybersecurity legislation and regulations are relevant, keeping up with changes in technology, international standards, industry business models and cyber threat landscape, and effective in accomplishing CSA’s mission.

What you will be working on

Responsibilities • Support the development and review of cybersecurity legislation, regulations and licensing frameworks. • Administer the Cybersecurity Act, including the designation, withdrawal and review of critical information infrastructures (CII) and owners of regulated digital infrastructures and other regulated entities, appointment of auditors for audits on CII. • Examine critical information infrastructures (CII) and owners of regulated digital infrastructures and other regulated entities’ compliance with all statutory obligations under the Cybersecurity Act. • Support the administration of the licensing of cybersecurity service providers, including recommending the grant and renewal of licenses. • Profile CSA as a thought leader/front runner in the area of cybersecurity legislation and regulations. • Represent CSA’s regulatory positions in adjacent/ related legislation. • Support and participate in CSA-wide / cross agency projects/taskforces.

Requirements • Minimally 3-4 years of working experience, preferably in policy development, regulations, cybersecurity domain. • Analytical and critical thinker, possess sharp policy acumen. • Adaptable and proactive. • Good communication skills (written and verbal). • Good people management skills, ability to engage and influence stakeholders, align interests and build partnerships. • Independent, motivated, responsible and meticulous. • Good interpersonal and people management skills, ability to engage and influence stakeholders, align interests and build partnerships. • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
