What the role is

You are responsible for ensuring the readiness of the Psychological Defence Group (PDG) Operations Hub and its component IT systems for operations. You will coordinate and oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of key IT systems as well as work with various stakeholders, engineers, and contractors to ensure steady operational performance for critical systems.

What you will be working on

- Oversee operational systems and ensure readiness for operations - Coordinate, organise and oversee the maintenance and upkeep of Operations Support Information Technology systems, data servers, infrastructure and equipment - Support the design and deployment of communication systems - Perform needs assessments and collaborate with other departments to develop solutions, and work with tech partners to implement systems - Allocate and prioritise operational resources - Organise the Operations Centre for control and monitoring - Support operational tasks as needed Challenge(s) - Keeping up with rapidly evolving communication technologies and considering their relevance for adoption or integration with operational systems - Being resourceful and responsive to job requirements in a fast-paced information environment - Managing and tackling resource constraints, while delivering high-quality communication solutions for operational needs

What we are looking for

- Education in Information Technology, Computing, Information Systems, Information Security, Communications Engineering or a related field is preferred - Experience in current operations monitoring, running operation centres and deploying IT systems is advantageous - Good analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess system performance and implement effective solutions - Familiarity with project management methodologies - Ability to multitask - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey technical information to non-technical persons Appointment will be commensurate with your experience.
