What you will be working on
1) National Infection Prevention and Control (NIPC) Committee Secretariat
Coordinate and facilitate all NIPC committee and IPC lead meetings, ensuring thorough preparation, effective execution, comprehensive documentation, and follow-up.
Conduct rapid and scoping reviews as needed to provide evidence-based insights that support informed decision-making in IPC.
Prepare IPC reports using data from the Analytics, Reports, and Methods (ARM) unit to provide prompt updates on the current IPC status to the NIPC committee and key stakeholders.
Coordinate and manage queries received through the generic secretariat email, ensuring timely and effective responses to all incoming communications.
Align all activities with the strategic direction established by the NIPC Committee and Deputy Director
2) IPC Guidelines and Standards Development
Execute secretariat functions for the National IPC Guideline Development Groups and the National IPC Standards Development Groups, convened by the NIPC Committee.
Collate and synthesise comments and feedback received during the guidelines and standards development process. This involves systematically gathering inputs from stakeholders, organising the feedback, and ensuring that all relevant perspectives are considered and effectively integrated into final documents.
Continuously review and update national IPC documents based on best practices and new evidence.
Ensure the effective dissemination of documents to ensure broad accessibility and understanding by respective stakeholders. Engaging stakeholders as needed throughout this process to gather diverse insights and facilitate meaningful implementation.
3) Work closely with the healthcare epidemiology (HCE), ICON@NCID, and Analytics, Reports, and Methods (ARM) units to manage outbreaks, reduce HAIs and AMR.
Work closely with HCE during an outbreak to ensure a coordinated response. This may include providing recommendations for IPC measures, conducting risk assessments, evaluating IPC protocols, and support the development of strategies to contain or prevent outbreaks.
Collaborate with ARM to produce reports and systematic reviews related to IPC, leveraging data and analytics to inform decision-making and improve IPC practices.
Facilitate the representation of the NICHE division in meetings with stakeholders, advocating for the division's IPC strategies, plans, and progress.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with external partners, ensuring inter-sectoral collaboration and effective coordination of IPC efforts.
Collaborate with national and international organisations on HAI and AMR initiatives, leveraging expertise and resources to improve IPC practices and reduce HAIs and AMR.
Foster strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring that the division's IPC strategies are aligned with their needs and priorities.
4) Performance Monitoring and Evaluation
Conduct periodic analysis of HAI and AMR data, along with other relevant national IPC indicators such as healthcare facility onset MDROs, clostridium difficile infections, device-associated infections in ICUs, hand hygiene compliance rates, and bed cleaning compliance rates, to discern patterns and pinpoint areas for improvement.
Systematically gather and integrate feedback regarding the efficacy of the division's initiatives and formulate improvement strategies based on the findings of these assessments.
What we are looking for
- Tertiary education in relevant field (nursing, medical, pharmacy and other healthcare fields)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in IPC, healthcare operations, project management, public health, or related policy and programme development roles. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in developing documents and reports will be considered a significant advantage for this role.
