What the role is
What you will be working on
Required Skills and Competencies:
Compliance and Governance: Develop and implement controls and safeguards across programmes to ensure alignment with organisational policies and regulatory requirements
Audit Management: Supporting the Programmes Team on programme audits, including preparation of documentation and implementation/follow-up of audit recommendations
Process Enhancement: Drive process improvements to enhance grant governance across various stages of the programme life cycle
Systems and Verification: Oversee the development and implementation of compliance monitoring frameworks, including system checks and verification processes
Risk Management: Conduct regular reviews of existing processes and systems to identify potential risks and recommend mitigation measures
Stakeholder Management: Liaise with internal stakeholders and external partners (e.g. programme partners) to ensure adherence to compliance requirements and resolution of governance matters. This includes:
Translating complex programme requirements into clear guidelines for programme partners to ensure consistency and compliance across various programmes
Working with second line and third line to drive grant governance efforts across WSG and implement measures under the grants governance framework
What we are looking for
Relevant experience in accounting, finance and compliance reviews and audits from commercial or professional audit environments would be advantageous
Knowledge/Skills:
Good understanding of governance frameworks and compliance requirements
Experience in process review and enhancement
Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and change management
Strong project management skills with ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders
Abilities/Aptitudes:
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex requirements clearly
Proactive team player with good interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities effectively
