What the role is
What you will be working on
With the aim of creating a safe and trusted online environment for Singapore, IMDA is looking for a Assistant Director to join IMDA’s Online Communications Office, which:
- Designs, operationalises and enforces IMDA’s online content regulations relating to Online Safety and Misinformation
- Engages stakeholders within Government and Industry to ensure effective compliance with online content regulations related to online safety and misinformation.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team to develop and review online safety, misinformation and content regulation and policies, innovative compliance frameworks and other online safety initiatives.
- Lead in-depth, data-driven assessments of online platforms’ compliance with codes of practice.
- Lead and manage stakeholder engagement strategies and oversee interactions with industry stakeholders.
- Spearhead public consultations and industry briefings on regulatory policy initiatives.
- Lead horizon scanning and research initiatives on online safety, misinformation and content regulation related issues globally to support policy development and implementation.
What we are looking for
Job Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in a technology policy or operations related role in the private or public sectors, with 3 years of people management preferred
- Strong interest in online safety and good knowledge of how online platforms operate, including social media services, app stores, online video games and other online communication services.
- Strong writing skills and a natural curiosity to understand how tech works are a must. Experience working with data is preferred.
This position will commensurate with experience.
