What the role is
What you will be working on
To align with the Digital Government Blueprint’s vision of “Digital to the Core, and Serves with Heart”, LTA is embarking on a digital transformation journey by harnessing new technologies to drive broader efforts to revamp the digital platform, develop and integrate enterprise-wide IT systems. We envision to leverage cloud services such as government commercial cloud infrastructure for enhanced business agility and build stakeholder-centric services that cater to businesses’ needs.
LTA is looking for Lead / Principal IT Platform Engineer to be responsible for reviewing and integrating the technical architecture requirements for the development, execution, and operations of IT systems.
You will be involved in:
- Leading the technical architecture analysis, design, implementation of the solution concept, and ensure selected products fulfil the requirements
- Decision making on implementation regarding hardware, network products, system software, and security
- Validating technical architecture designs with stakeholders and ensuring the technical requirements tie back to the established goals and strategy
- Collaborating with different teams to determine how the application is supported in production, including back-ups, disaster recovery, system performance, and project management
- Delivering the design, build, and test of all technical architecture components/solutions (e.g., development, execution, and operations environment solutions)
- Determining how many staging environment instances are needed and can be supported for Development (interfaces and application), Test, Training, Staging, Production, Production Support, etc.
- Performing hardware and software sizing and capacity planning as required to support the IT systems
- Reviewing technical architecture deliverables throughout development to ensure quality and requirement traceability
- Planning technical architecture sprints taking into consideration the dependencies between the application and the technical architecture
- Transitioning the system designs to developers and engineers to ensure a clear and complete understanding for implementation
What we are looking for
- Knowledge in Computer Science/Engineering or any relevant qualification with at least 7 years’ IT experience in project delivery of enterprise-wide projects
- Able to lead technical discussions and bridge communication in a multi-disciplinary and multi-vendor environment
- Experience in delivery, operations and maintenance of large and complex systems / platforms, IT system and application security, integration of a diverse suite of 3rd party hardware and software products
- Experience in delivery, operations and maintenance of cloud based platforms, services and solutions
- Experience in IT project management, service management and complex system integrations, hardware and software delivery, cloud administration and configurations
- Ability to provide technical leadership to the project team for delivery matters and engage stakeholders on evaluation of technologies / tech stack as well as resolution of various technology issues
- Knowledge and implementation experience of the Government Instruction Manual for IT Management (IM8) and WOG baseline standards is an advantage
