What the role is
What you will be working on
In addition to your teaching duties, you will carry out industry or consultancy projects to help you remain relevant in your profession and to evolving changes in industry, and maintain strong linkages with industry and schools. You will also have the opportunity to have industry attachments or experience on a regular basis to update your skills, knowledge and practices of your profession. Your key role is to manage the department’s community, lifestyle and sports agency and coordinate all related industry projects. You will source for industry events in the private and public sectors with the aim of allowing students to conceptualise, plan and execute real life industry events/projects in the areas of community, lifestyle and sports. You will also establish constructive relationships with external stakeholders such as government agencies, related-companies and other potential clients.
What we are looking for
Your experience is crucial. We're looking for applicants with at least three years of relevant experience in either:
(a) Integrated programming and/or precinct programming in the field of Lifestyle and Community Programming. Experience in conceptualising a wide range of events such as community festivals, sports tournaments, and lifestyle workshops is required.
(b) Youth Development. Experience in conceptualising a broad range of programmes in the Youth community.
Those with good and relevant experience can look forward to Senior Lecturer or equivalent positions, with career development opportunities to leadership positions in the Colleges or Headquarters.
