What the role is
What you will be working on
As part of the Bus Procurement team, you will play a crucial role in developing, overseeing, and executing initiatives to strengthen asset management for Singapore’s public bus transport system. Your efforts will directly contribute to ensuring a safe, sustainable, and reliable bus fleet that meets operational demands.
Your core responsibilities will include:
1. Driving asset renewal and replacement strategies to meet operational and sustainability objectives.
2. Leading the formulation of asset requirements, including preparing tender specifications and evaluating tender submissions.
3. Managing end-to-end bus procurement processes—from market sounding and tender preparation to bid evaluation and contract negotiation with manufacturers.
4. Conducting pre-delivery inspections and testing onboard bus equipment to ensure compliance with contract standards.
5. Coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of systems and technologies onto bus platforms.
6. Building and maintaining strong partnerships with bus manufacturers and suppliers to stay abreast of industry innovations and product developments.
7. Conducting market research on emerging bus technologies and trends to recommend updated design specifications aligned with public transport needs.
8. Overseeing bus procurement budgets to ensure cost-effective purchasing without compromising quality.
In addition, you will contribute to continuous improvements in asset management practices by streamlining processes and optimizing systems to support the evolving public transport landscape. This includes developing procurement strategies aligned with long-term fleet management and sustainability goals.
What we are looking for
- Knowledge in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, or equivalent).
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in the automotive technology or related industry, preferably with knowledge of bus systems, service, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with hybrid or electric vehicle technologies is a plus.
- Experience in public bus or transport industries and data analytics skill are advantageous.
- Strong analytical, planning, execution, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and IT proficiency.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
