Overview:
As the Director of Internal Audit (IA), you will lead and oversee internal audit activities within the agency, ensuring robust governance, risk management, and control frameworks. You will manage a team of IA professionals, drive audit excellence, and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance the agency’s internal controls and compliance posture. This role also involves developing internal audit capabilities and fostering a culture of professionalism across the agency’s IA function.

What the role is
What you will be working on
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the planning, execution, and reporting of internal audits across the agency, ensuring audits are completed on time, within scope, and of high quality.
• Develop and implement strategic audit plans aligned with the agency’s risk landscape and operational priorities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the IA function, including adoption of data analytics, technology tools, and best practices.
• Build and nurture a community of practice within the agency’s IA function to raise professional standards and share knowledge.
• Engage with senior management and key stakeholders to communicate audit findings, provide advisory insights, and support sound governance and risk management practices.
• Manage, mentor, and develop IA staff by identifying training needs and growth opportunities to maintain high performance and professional competency.
• Ensure compliance with relevant internal audit standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
What we are looking for
Requirements:
• Professional background in Accountancy, Finance, or related fields.
• Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or equivalent certification preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of internal audit experience
• Strong expertise in risk assessment, internal controls evaluation, and internal audit methodologies.
• Proficient in data analytics and audit technology adoption.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated leadership capability with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to influence and build effective working relationships across multiple levels of management.
