What the role is
What you will be working on
· Deliver lessons, craft teaching and assessment materials, and facilitate learning for Pre-Employment Training (PET) and Continuing Education and Training (CET) students.
· Enhance existing and/or develop new teaching curricula and materials. This includes reviewing current lesson resources to make improvements that will enhance students’ learning, application and employability.
· Contribute to the development of PET and CET modules and programmes, leveraging on appropriate GenAI and EdTech platforms and tools where applicable.
· Participate in the development and enhancement of teaching and learning capabilities within RP and the School’s academic team.
· Support the School’s strategic thrusts and initiatives through involvement in academic advancement, student development, and industry projects.
· Design and deliver modules across key areas in Financial Technology, Analytics, AI and any of the following Banking and Finance related areas:
- Financial Markets & Institutions
- Corporate Finance
- Investment Analysis
- International Trade Finance
- Financial Regulations & Compliance
- Risk Management
- Sustainable Finance
· Integrate applied learning approaches through real-world case studies, simulations and industry-relevant tools (e.g. Excel, Data Analytics, AI tools)
· Collaborate with industry partners (e.g. banks, fintech firms, regulators) to co-develop curriculum, projects, and experiential learning opportunities.
· Participate in consultancy projects, applied research, and capability-building initiatives related to banking, finance, and sustainability.
· Contribute to school-level initiatives, including programme development, academic innovation, and partnerships with industry and professional bodies (e.g. IBF, MAS initiatives).
· Undertake academic related administrative responsibilities such as preparing lesson materials, setting assessments, grading submissions, and coordinating academic reports.
· Provide pastoral support and guidance to students.
· Support students’ learning and development outside of the classroom through activities such as coaching students for competitions, providing education and career guidance, supervising final year projects and internships, and leading overseas trips for educational and community service-learning purposes.
What we are looking for
· At least three years of relevant industry experience in banking, financial services, fintech or related sectors; teaching or training experience is a plus.
· A nurturing mindset with the ability to establish strong rapport with learners – an important attribute to be a good educator.
· Strong industry connections to infuse the learning experience with real life context and access resources for the continual upgrading and updating of academic programmes that are aligned to industry needs.
· Strong domain expertise in one or more of the following areas:
o Banking operations (retail, commercial, corporate),
o Risk, Compliance, AML/KYC
o Financial markets, Treasury or Investment products
o FinTech, Digital banking or Data Analytics
o Sustainable Finance, ESG
· Good understanding of current trends sharping the financial sector, including digitalisation, AI integration, regulatory developments and sustainability.
· Ability to integrate technology (e.g. Excel, data analytics tools, AI applications) into teaching and learning.
· Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of Power BI is an added advantage.
· Relevant academic qualifications in Banking, Finance, Economics, Business, Data Analytics or related fields.
· Industry certifications (e.g. CFA, FRM, IBF certifications, sustainability-related credentials) are a bonus.
· Experience working with or alongside financial institutions such as DBS, OCBC, UOB, Citibank, HSBC, or fintech firms will be advantageous.
· A team player who thrives in a dynamic environment and can manage multiple projects independently.
