What the role is
The job of a lecturer is immensely meaningful and significant. You are not only tasked with the responsibility to impart knowledge and skills, and prepare young and adult learners for the working world, you will also have a hand in nurturing and influencing their developments. This role offers you the opportunity to develop contemporary curricula, conduct impactful lessons, and shape lives. You will also participate in consultancy projects, applied research and collaboration with industry partners.
What you will be working on
· Deliver lessons, craft teaching and assessment materials, and facilitate learning for Pre-Employment Training (PET) and Continuing Education and Training (CET) students.
· Enhance existing and/or develop new teaching curricula and materials. This includes reviewing current lesson resources to make improvements that will enhance students’ learning, application and employability.
· Contribute to the development of PET and CET modules and programmes, leveraging on appropriate GenAI and EdTech platforms and tools where applicable.
· Participate in the development and enhancement of teaching and learning capabilities within RP and the School’s academic team.
· Support the School’s strategic thrusts and initiatives through involvement in academic advancement, student development, and industry projects.
· Undertake academic related administrative responsibilities such as preparing lesson materials, setting assessments, grading submissions, and coordinating academic reports.
· Provide pastoral support and guidance to students.
· Support students’ learning and development outside of the classroom through activities such as coaching students for competitions, providing education and career guidance, supervising final year projects and internships, and leading overseas trips for educational and community service learning purposes.
What we are looking for
· At least five years of relevant industry experience; teaching or training experience is a plus.
· A nurturing mindset with the ability to establish strong rapport with learners – an important attribute to be a good educator.
· Strong industry connections to infuse the learning experience with real life context and access resources for the continual upgrading and updating of academic programmes that are aligned to industry needs.
· Expertise in one or more of the following areas: digital marketing, international trade and business, banking and finance, sustainability reporting, and data analytics.
· Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of Power BI is an added advantage.
· Industry certifications (eg, Business Analytics, Data Visualisation, Sustainability) are a bonus.
· A team player who thrives in a dynamic environment and can manage multiple projects independently.
Successful candidates are expected to be self-driven, resourceful and innovative with strong communication skills.
