What the role is

You will be part of the International Relations Division, which is responsible for strengthening relationships with foreign counterparts and advancing Singapore’s and MSF’s interests on international platforms. You will represent the Ministry and advance our participation and engagement in key bilateral, regional, and multilateral engagements.

What you will be working on

Your portfolio and responsibilities include: a) Representing Singapore and the Ministry, and coordinating and staffing political office holders and senior government officials, at international and regional meetings. b) Coordinating and staffing incoming and outgoing visits with political leaders and senior government officials. c) Assessing and facilitating the Ministry’s international engagements and partnerships. d) Contributing to the preparation of comprehensive background briefs and coordinating the planning and organisation of key meetings. In performing your duties, you will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including other ministries, government agencies, community leaders, and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs). You will also engage with regional and international organisations such as ASEAN, the United Nations (UN), and the European Union (EU). As work may sometimes take place across different time zones, or key activities may take place at the start of the week, there will be occasions when you will need to work after office hours on weekdays or weekends. You will also be expected to travel for work. Where such work is required, time-off-in-lieu or other appropriate arrangements will be provided in accordance with prevailing HR policies.

What we are looking for

• Strong written and verbal communication and engagement skills. • Strong analytical thinking and sound judgment. • Self-motivated, confident, and able to work independently and in teams. • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills • Knowledge and relevant experience in the work of government sector, regional groupings (e.g. ASEAN and EU), and international organisations (e.g. UN) is advantageous but not required.
