What the role is
What you will be working on
In this role, you will develop data-driven strategies to enhance athlete performance, and to assess athletes’ physiological profiles, translate data into actionable insights for coaches.
In this role, You will,
- Physiological assessments: conduct various tests to evaluate athletes’ strengths and weaknesses in terms of metabolic, cardiovascular, neuromuscular and anthropometric parameters
- Training prescription and monitoring: Where appropriate, develop and implement training plans based on the physiological demands of the sport and the physiological assessments. Continuous monitoring of athletes to ensure optimal adaptation
- Data analysis and interpretation: analyse the physiological data to provide evidence-based insights for coaches and athletes, inform decisions about training, recovery and performance enhancement
- Ergogenic aids and recovery strategies: Provide guidance on the appropriate use of ergogenic aids and optimising recovery strategies to minimise fatigue and maximise training benefits
- Athlete education: Empower athletes to make informed decisions about their training and recovery
- Research and innovation: Stay up to date with the latest research in sport science and contribute to the development of new and innovative approaches to athlete training and performances.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other sport science teams to ensure a holistic approach to athlete development.
What we are looking for
We are looking for self-motivated individuals who value integrity, teamwork and take pride in going the extra mile to provide excellent service to stakeholders and the community. This individual should be a sport advocate through living an active lifestyle and staying active.
In addition, an ideal candidate should possess the following:
- Background in Exercise Science, Sport Physiology or equivalent/relevant field
- Proficiency in physical testing (e.g., V̇O2max test, lactate threshold test, beep test, Yo-yo test) and data analysis (e.g., multi-regression modelling, polynomial equations)
- Ability to communicate complex physiological information to coaches, athletes and the rest of the support team
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively with others
- Ability to identify and address physiological limiting factors in high-performance sports
The level of offer will be commensurate with applicants’ experience and track records.
