What you will be working on
The incumbent will implement safety governance frameworks and risk assessment protocols across the sporting ecosystem. The role ensures effective execution of safety policies, leads incident investigations for SportSG, and maintains strong partnerships with stakeholders to uphold safety standards across facilities and programmes whilst developing preventive strategies and manage national sport safety initiatives through research and innovation.
Role and Responsibilities
• Develop and implement comprehensive safety frameworks, protocols and processes across sporting facilities, ensuring alignment with organisational standards.
• Execute safety compliance programmes balancing operational requirements with regulatory needs.
• Manage safety management systems implementation through structured pathways and assessment methodologies.
• Conduct benchmarking for safety initiatives and be familiar with industry best practices.
• Implement risk management frameworks and safety development programmes.
• Oversee safety analytics and documentation systems to track effectiveness.
• Develop and implement incident response and risk management protocols across ActiveSG facilities, ensuring alignment with organisational procedures and in consultation with Centre Operations teams.
• Execute investigation frameworks balancing thoroughness with timeliness.
• Implement an integrated stakeholder support ecosystem, encompassing social services, counselling networks, and family assistance protocols.
• Drive root cause analysis programmes through structured methodologies.
• Lead evidence collection and documentation processes, including supporting court proceedings where needed.
• Implement preventive action frameworks and monitoring systems.
• Oversee incident analytics and reporting systems.
• Submit and manage regulatory documentation to relevant authorities.
• Lead systematic review of risk assessment frameworks and provide expert guidance on risk management plans across diverse stakeholder groups.
• Foster high-level partnerships with government authorities and key industry stakeholders to advance safety governance excellence.
• Lead advocacy efforts at national and organisational levels to strengthen safety culture across the sporting ecosystem
• Represent team in project committees and communities of practice to influence safety standards.
• Shape development of Singapore Standards and industry's Code of Practices for sport safety.
• Support organisational response to national contingencies.
• Develop and enhance of comprehensive safety guidelines across sporting facilities and programmes.
• Lead review and development of safety standards aligned with international best practices.
• Lead systematic review and enhancement of existing standards to meet emerging industry needs.
• Champion standardisation of safety protocols across varied sport facilities.
• Integrate innovative safety practices into existing guidelines.
• Foster digital transformation through strategic integration of emerging technologies and AI solutions across varied sport facilities, driving next-generation safety practices.
• Conduct pioneering research initiatives and global benchmarking studies to revolutionise safety management practices together with research partners.
• Develop sophisticated data analytics and predictive modelling frameworks to enhance risk identification and mitigation.
• Champion innovation projects that advance safety management systems to industry-leading standards.
• Develop next-generation safety solutions through evidence-based methodologies.
• Develop research-backed safety frameworks that shape industry standards.
• Drive business partnerships in training and safety matters for assigned Zones/Divisions, ensuring strategic alignment with organisational objectives.
• Manage large-scale division-wide and organisation-wide projects.
• Lead internal working groups to drive strategic training priorities.
• Oversee project evaluation and reporting to ensure achievement of objectives.
• Manage resource allocation across multiple projects to optimise outcomes.
What we are looking for
We are looking for self-motivated individuals who value integrity, teamwork and take pride in going the extra mile to provide excellent service to stakeholders and the community. This individual should be a sport advocate through living an active lifestyle and staying active.
In addition, an ideal candidate should possess the following:
• At least 5 years of experience in developing and enforcing policies and programmes.
• Knowledge in workplace safety and health, incident management would be an advantage.
• Proven ability to foster collaborative efforts by building partnerships with stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven projectmanagement and organisational capability
• Effective stakeholder management ability

• Demonstrated initiative and proactiveness

The level of offer will commensurate with applicants’ experience and track records. Successful candidates will be offered a 2/3-year contract in the first instance.
