What the role is

Uphold high standards of public health by working with the Senior Executive/Manager and a team of officers at the Eastern Regional Office‘s Investigation and Enforcement Section (IES) to investigate and enforce against offences under but not limited to the Control of Vectors and Pesticides Act 1998 and Environmental Public Health Act (EPHA).

What you will be working on

Some of the work requirements are as follows:

  • Provide sanitation operational and administrative support to execute Vector Control preventive surveillance and outbreak operations.
  • Attend to and resolve feedback from members of the public to ensure timely closure.
  • Engage extensively with stakeholders to create awareness and facilitate compliance to the regulations. 
  • Support the enforcement of the Control of Vectors and Pesticides Act (CVPA) and Environmental Public Health Act (EPHA) to ensure adherence to environmental public health requirement.
  • Investigate and interview witnesses and offenders. 
  • Gain hands-on experience in frontline enforcement operations to better understand investigation protocols and interviewing techniques

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualities:

  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • A team player with good problem solving skills
  • Comfortable in working in a fast-paced environment and within tight deadlines
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time in a fast paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Organised and able to multi-task
  • Outgoing, pleasant personality, independent and resourceful.
  • Experience in investigation will be an advantage
