We are seeking a driven Principal Career Consultant who is passionate about partnering individuals in their job search journey, working in a team to improve their career health and employability. In addition to securing job vacancies for jobseekers who approach Careers Connect for employment assistance, the Principal Career Consultant will be required to lead a team of Career Consultants/Senior Career Consultants and actively seek ways to improve the team’s performance.

What the role is
What you will be working on
Leadership and Performance Management
• Lead and manage the performance of a team of Career Consultants/Senior Career Consultants
• Inculcate professional conduct and compliance of the Code of Ethics for Career Practitioners
• Provide thought leadership on hiring and jobseeker trends to various stakeholders in the organisation
• Design, develop and deliver new initiatives to raise effectiveness of job matching efforts
• Design and develop monitoring system to analyse effectiveness of job matching efforts
• Evaluate processes to ensure operational and service excellence
Employer Engagement and Relationship Management
• Keep abreast of labour market trends and employment landscape to provide useful insights and analysis to career coaches and jobseekers.
• Scan employment landscape including tapping onto professional networks to identify vacancies that are suitable for jobseekers registered with Careers Connect.
• Engage and establish relationship with employers and hiring managers to understand their hiring needs behind the identified vacancies and acquire them for Careers Connect.
Advocate Jobseekers to Employers
• Work with career coaches to identify jobseekers who are ready to be profiled to employers and hiring managers including enhancing their resumes to improve alignment with hiring needs.
• Pitch the identified jobseeker to employers and hiring managers to secure interviews.
• Work with career coaches to prepare shortlisted jobseekers to prepare for the interviews.
• Follow up with employers and hiring managers on the outcome of interviews and address concerns to improve chances of securing an offer.
• Seek feedback from employers and hiring managers on both successful and unsuccessful interviews and share feedback with career coach and jobseeker for developmental purposes.
• Participant in events and activities to drive awareness of job matching services among jobseekers and employers.
What we are looking for
• At least 10 years’ working experience in business development, human resource or recruitment is preferred, including 3 or more years of supervisory experience
• Comprehensive and active business network and proven track record of securing job vacancies and placements in one or more industry domains.
• Self-directed, resourceful, enterprising and persuasive.
• Possess strong business acumen, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in service excellence or customer relationship management (CRM) will be welcomed.
• Certificate of Employment Intermediaries (CEI) will be advantageous.
• The ability to converse in Mother Tongues will be advantageous.
